Come and join us for a fun casual social ride through Riverhead Forest along the forestry roads.For those that don’t know Riverhead, it’s North West of Auckland (Woodhill direction, just not as far). There’s no charge to ride there. The trails are super muddy in winter, so hence why we’re staying on the forestry roads.
This is an inclusive ride, so suitable for all types of bike; MTB, eBike, Gravel, Retro.
We’ll depart from the Forestry Rd entrance, which is just close to #93, however further along from that house. Park along the road and we meet by the gate. The ride starts with a gradual climb up Longbush Rd & this takes us into the forest. We ride a loop of about 25-30km which varies each ride.
This is a fun casual ride, so no drop and Beginner friendly. A moderate level of fitness is required.
We ride in damp/cold weather, so dress appropriately. If heavy rain/strong winds are forecasted, we may cancel the ride for the safety of the group.
Please ensure you’ve eaten a substantial breakfast for 2+ hours of exercise and have enough water & snacks if needed.
Please bring a spare tube incase any issues arise. We’re happy to help with punctures etc, however need the correct sized inner tube. Any questions, feel free to ask away.
Ride duration is about 2hrs.
Post ride we’ll have a well deserved drink & some food.
