About this Event
Come out for a fall walk in the redwoods and around Lake Benoist, the larger quarry lake at Riverfront Regional Park, the Sunday before Thanksgiving, It is a 2.18-mile walk from the parking lot. We will see native riparian plants, fall color, and lake reflections if the weather is clear. We will walk in light rain; heavy rain cancels.
This path is hard gravel and therefore ok for some bikes and strollers, so bring the family. Near the Russian River, West Healdsburg is like a jungle, with riparian plants and trees, colorful grapevines, poison oak climbing about, and redwoods on the hill and in a grove near the parking lot.
There is a $7.00 parking fee if you don't have a Sonoma County Regional Parks pass. If you'd like to carpool and use my Parks pass, meet at the River Road park and ride near the electrical facility, west of 101 at River Road at 9:30 am.
Wear good walking shoes and dress accordingly for the weather. We will have lunch in the redwood grove following the walk.
