River Walkway - Balgownie Ave to North Mole

Join us on Sunday afternoon for a walk on the riverside walkway, we will follow the final section of the Whanganui River from Balgownie Ave to its mouth at the North Mole. We will complete a loop through the dunes at the beach before returning up the river. The shorter option for this walk is to walk as far as Gilbert Street before returning.
This 11km walk will take approximately 2.5-3hrs to complete, along a mostly flat track with a smooth & wide surface, turning to sand tracks at the beach. The shorter walk is 5km and will take approximately 1-1.5hrs. Dogs are welcome on leads. (There may not be a leader available for the return journey for the shorter walk)
