The river runs low in August, providing a perfect opportunity for adventurers of all ages to get their feet wet and explore. Wander the fascinating bedrock exposed by the river and stomp around shallow pools and rapids to see what cool critters we can catch.
Location: Side Cut Metropark, at the Riverview Parking lot
Dress to get wet and muddy. Closed-toed shoes such as old tennis shoes or water shoes are recommended. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. The river is low, but lifejackets are recommended for young explorers for added safety (available to borrow).
This program content is designed for ages 4-12. Younger siblings are welcome under close adult supervision. Please bring your own life jacket for those under age 4. Please register all youth. Adults will need to assist anyone under the age of 8.
