About this Event
Situated at the crossroads of science, art, and performance, River Reflections focuses on two different but connected rivers in the Connecticut River Watershed, telling their stories from the perspectives of their waters in a cross-curricular display of dance, music, and visual art.
This performance brings together the eco-art collage work of Todd Bartel and the environmental dance of Christopher Croucher and the Letting the Land Lead initiative with art, poetry, and filmmaking, inspired and led by the aquatic research work by Dr. Kirsten Martin. River Reflections explores the questions, “How can we listen to the water and the land, and what do we do with what we hear?”
River Reflections is a year-long collaboration between the Arts and Sciences, bringing together art, poetry, dance, video, and science in service of exploring and reflecting on Connecticut’s watershed and environment.
Join Todd Bartel for a pre-show discussion about his artwork developed throughout the process of connecting with the project participants and the storied history of the area. Light refreshments will be provided just before the main presentation.
