Join us for a Multi-Colour, Cut-Out, Riso Workshop Session!
Whether you're a total beginner or design pro — this workshop is all about experimentation! Explore the bold world of Risography, creating your own multi-coloured artwork with overlay graphic cut-outs. Book the afternoon session 14:00–16.30 What to Expect: This workshop is designed for beginners and the experienced alike: as it's all about playful layering, composition and happy accidents. At the start of the session we'll introduce you to a large inventory of geometric shapes and motifs which you can pattern-with, overlay and arrange to make your own creations, that you will transform through Riso-print. The session will cover: • A brief intro to the Risograph printing process and its unique aesthetics. • Hands-on guidance in enhancing and preparing artwork for the Riso process. Plus, you’ll leave with a stack of prints to share, sell or swap!
The space is limited to 6 participants per session, so book early to secure your spot!
What is a Riso Printer? A Riso printer (short for Risograph) is a Japanese printing technology that combines the look of screen printing with the speed of photocopying. It works by creating a stencil (called a master) on a drum filled with soy-based ink, which is then pressed onto paper — one colour layer at a time. Multiple passes produce bold overlapping effects and playful imperfections that give each print a unique character.
Originally developed in Japan in the 1980s, Riso printing is now loved by artists and designers worldwide for its vibrant colours, eco-friendly process, and handmade aesthetics.
Pif Pif Press is a Risograph studio based in Stockholm, born from a love for illustrations, colours and comic books. We produce colourful zines, posters, booklets and cards, while trying to make the most of this printing technique.
The workshop is in English and Swedish.
