Prepare for the 2025 People's Blockade of the world's largest coal port in Muloobinba/Newcastle with training in Non-Violent Direct Action (NVDA).This workshop will help you understand why non-violence is so important, what we mean by NVDA, how everyone can help keep our actions non-violent, how to interact with police and the role of civil disobedience in Rising Tide
All welcome, no matter what role you plan to take at the People's Blockade. This training will help us develop our skills in communication, decision-making and de-escalation.
When: Saturday 11 October, 9.30am-2.00pm
Where: Balam Balam Place, 15 Phoenix Street, Brunswick. Room TBC.
Cost: This training is by optional donation. $10 will cover your food (lunch plus snacks and tea and coffee); $20 will cover food and venue hire; or, if you’re feeling generous, chuck in more to help us deliver this training to more people.
