Join us for readings by three fantastic poets. Helen Mort was born in Sheffield. She has three collections with Chatto & Windus, and lectures in Creative Writing at MMU. Her first collection, Division Street, was shortlisted for the TS Eliot Prize and Costa Poetry Award, and won the Fenton Aldeburgh First Collection Prize. In 2014, she was named as a ‘Next Generation Poet.’ No Map Could Show Them, her second collection, was a Poetry Book Society recommendation. The Illustrated Woman was shortlisted for the Forward Prize. Her first novel, Black Car Burning was published in 2018 and her memoir, A Line Above The Sky, was shortlisted for the Boardman Tasker Prize for Mountain Literature. Jazmine Linklater is a poet and writer based in Manchester where she works for Carcanet Press and Corridor8. Her most recent poetry publication is Figure a Motion (Guillemot Press, 2020). Charlotte Oliver spent three years as BBC Radio York’s Saturday Poet Laureate and her poems have been published widely, most recently with Candlestick Press. Commissions include the BBC, Scarborough Film Festival and South Cliff Gardens Restoration Project. She is an Ilkley Literature Festival New Northern Poet 2023, Festival Poet for Big Ideas by the Sea 2024, and her debut collection, How To Be A Dressing Gown, is published by Dreich. Doors at 7.30pm.
