In the spirit of Unleash the Gospel, the Archdiocese of Detroit is inviting high school youth to attend RISE Detroit 2026.
About this Event

The theme is Unafraid, based on the Scripture - Joshua 1:9. Moses is handing leadership to Joshua - “Be strong and courageous! Do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD, your God, is with you wherever you go.”


All 9-12th graders are invited to attend RISE! All attending teens must be accompanied by an adult chaperone (youth minister, high school campus minister, teacher, pastor, parent, etc.).


The event will take place on Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 9:00 a.m.-7:15 p.m. at Mercy High School in Farmington. The speakers include Chika Anyanwu, Archbishop Weisenburger, and Fr. Mark Livingston! Activities include keynotes, powerful music and worship experiences, service opportunities, small group discussions, and Liturgy!

General Registration

All attending teens must be accompanied by an adult chaperone (parent, youth minister, pastor, teacher, etc.).

Standard Admission: $35 for all participants: teens and adults

Sign up by January 5, 2026, to receive a 25% discount!

Registration will remain open until January 29, 2026.

Parish Group T-Shirts: Parishes or schools that register 10 or more participants by December 15, 2025, will receive free RISE 2026 t-shirts. (T-shirts will be provided on the day of the event).

Who are the Speakers?
ARCHBISHOP EDWARD WEISENBURGER

Edward Joseph Weisenburger was born in Alton, Illinois, on December 23, 1960, to Edward John Weisenburger and Asella (Walters) Weisenburger, the third of their four surviving children. His father was a military officer, and his mother a homemaker. Weisenburger grew up primarily in Lawton, Oklahoma, but as necessitated by following his father’s career, his family also lived briefly in Kansas and Texas. Following high school graduation, he attended Conception Seminary College in Missouri, where he graduated with honors in 1983.
He was then assigned to the American College Seminary at the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium from 1983-1987, where he earned the Pontifical S.T.B. in Theology, an M.A. in Religious Studies and a Master's in Moral and Religious Sciences, M.MR.Sc. On December 19, 1987, he was ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Oklahoma City.



FATHER MARK LIVINGSTON

Reverend Mark Livingston appointed Administrator of Holy Family Parish, Memphis; St. Augustine Parish, Richmond; St. Mary Mystical Rose Parish, Armada, that form The Merciful Love of Jesus Family of Parishes, effective July 1, 2023. Father Livingston currently serves as Priest In Solidum at St. Justin-St. Mary Magdalen Parish, Hazel Park; St. Mary Parish, Royal Oak; National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica Parish, Royal Oak; St. Vincent Ferrer Parish, Madison Heights, that form South Oakland Vicariate Family 4, primarily serving at National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica Parish, Royal Oak.


CHIKA ANYANWU

Chika Anyanwu is a Catholic evangelist, former Confirmation coordinator/youth & young adult minister, and the author of "My Encounter: How I Met Jesus in Prayer" (click link to purchase). Her love for God and her neighbor inspires her to share the gospel through testimony, scripture, and honest conversations about the complex realities of faith and life. She has had the opportunity to evangelize at NCYC, Given, Steubenville youth conferences, FOCUS SEEK conferences, and the Catholic Feminist France pilgrimage. She’s also a contributor to Blessed Is She as well as “Connected” and “Venture: the Bible Timeline” by Ascension Press. Chika is a part of a beautiful Nigerian family, loves her coffee black, and desires sainthood for herself and you, although bad drivers challenge her sanctity!
