What is RISE? RISE is offering young people a window into the creative industries at a pivotal moment in their academic and everyday life, which is serendipitously now supported by the state of NM standing up the Creative Industries Department. With the CID in place, our youth who are graduating, are leveling up into a landscape which will show promise in resources and network opportunities when it comes to professional careers beyond high school and higher education.
By engaging with urban and rural youth through the arts: poetry, creative writing, music, sound, digital production and documentation, video documentation, social media marketing and branding. We will be able to hand them a tool to help them decide if in fact NM is the place to stay and build a future for themselves.
What Makes RISE Different than Other Conferences About Art and Culture?
Our RISE facilitators are trained professionals in one if not numerous of the modalities above. By working with youth, to show them the capacities of tools they encounter daily with their phones and computers, we can engage them in a journey that won’t be subject to our presence. RISE instructors will keep our facilitation based in and on affordable accessible tools for creativity, meaning anything we are creating and selling - and showing youth around NM how to create and sell, is simple, easy, and replicable - with some hardwork and dedication - we will all RISE
