About this Event
This meetup is a series of friendly Riichi mahjong games, each lasting about an hour. After each game we'll shuffle players so everyone gets a chance to make the rounds and play at a diverse set of tables. Please feel free to drop by at any time during the session, we can either slot you into the current round or make space for you at the start of the next game! Tickets are also available at the door if you don't get a chance to grab one before you come by.
Founded in 2010, the USPML is the premier US organization for Riichi Mahjong. We've been primarily focused hosting events nationwide and supporting Riichi play through education and outreach. Now that we have a dedicated space for mahjong here in NYC, we're proud to open our doors for regular free play meetups!
If you're new to mahjong, don't be shy - we're very happy to teach new players and help you get started. We're also working on more formal classes for beginners and those looking to dive deeper into the strategy and culture of mahjong.
