London to Brighton via Devil's Dyke Ride - A London (=C=L=A=R=I=O=N<) Club Ride
The ride will start from Servewell cafe in Bermondsey.
We will ride from Bermondsey to Today's Cafe in Purley, then on to Turners Hill where we will stop for a pub lunch then on to Devils Dyke.
In total the ride is 98.0 km / 60.9 miles - 982 m / 3223 ft climb
Devil's Dyke is a 100m deep V-shaped valley on the South Downs Way in southern England, near Brighton and Hove. It is part of a Site of Special Scientific Interest, Beeding Hill to Newtimber Hill. Devil's Dyke was a major local tourist attraction in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Please note this ride is for London Clarion Cycle Club members or invited guests of members. As a London Clarion CC Member you are welcome to bring a friend along but please ensure they register.
Ride Details
The ride will start from outside Servewell Cafe in Bermondsey.
- The latest rules on Covid-19 must be followed at all times. British Cycling Covid-19 Guideance or Cycling Weekly Article 10th March
- All riders will need to be self sufficient in dealing with any punctures, mechanical breakdowns etc
- All riders will be riding at their own risk
- Please bring enough layers to keep you warm, a face covering, hand gel, lights, a waterproof and snacks to help keep you going, money for the train ticket back to London, cash for coffee and a spare inner tube just in case!
- We will run a WhatsApp group during the weekend of the ride.
The route will be emailed to those you have registered just before the weekend of the ride.
