About this Event

There are rumours that Grandad's allotment and the Peckham Spring were both destroyed in a small earthquake. There were only a few tremors but enough to destroy the allotment. In Del's 2018 book "You Know It Makes Sense", he says the "spring" dried up very quickly, hence why there may have been lack of evidence against Del.

But is all this true? Is a real Peckham Spring still there? This is a ride to find out.

Two years ago, there was much hilarity when a group of East End cyclists did this ride as a Letsride ride and cycled round South London looking for the Peckham Spring.

So we will be doing it again.

We meet at the View Tube (location https://w3w.co/terms.coast.press) (coffee will be available from 9am and we set off at 9.30am). Once we have crossed to the south side of the Thames at Cutty Sark, we will seek out the Peckham Spring. We will go as far as One Tree Hill (allegedly saved from development by locals spurred on by free beer from a local brewer), which is the source of the River Peck.

On the way back we will be stopping off for a refreshment break at the Blackbird Bakery on Queen's Road. The ride will finish at Cutty Sark Gardens.
