Ride for Mayor Willie T. & Car Show

The late LaGrange Mayor Willie T. Edmondson left a huge legacy for the City of LaGrange. Edmondson was the City's first African-American Mayor and his vision was to unify the community. He held the first-ever Mayor's Christmas Ball in 2023 to bring the entire community together to help raise money for scholarships for young high school seniors who want to go to college. He passed away in February 2024. The Mayor's Christmas Ball raised thousands for the Willie T. Edmondson Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Councilman Quay Boddie wanted to continue Edmondson's vision. He created this event, the "Ride for Mayor Willie T. & Car Show" with Edmondson's love of cars in mind.

The cost to participate in the car show is $25/car. To sign up go to https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ride-for-mayor-willie-t-car-show-tickets-1145924163019?aff=oddtdtcreator. The public is welcome to view the cars, free of charge.

The car show will be open to the public from 10AM-1PM in the parking lot of the LaGrange AMC Movie Theater at 201 Main Street in Downtown LaGrange. At 1PM, there will be a short ceremony announcing the winners, then all vehicles will be asked to line up for the ride to Antioch, Edmondson’s hometown. All proceeds from this event will go to the Willie T. Edmondson Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Info: Shortly after the ceremony, all vehicles will line up to form a processional to Antioch, Willie T. Edmondson's hometown. Vehicles will disperse from Antioch.
