ROOTS EXPLOSION SOUNDSYSTEM
Roots Explosion is a soundsystem crew from Bruges, Belgium that was founded in 2016. The crew consists of five core members with a common love for reggae music and soundsystem culture. Their main goal is to promote said culture and organize affordable and accessible dances for music lovers young and old. Roots Explosion is playing all kinds of Jamaican music, dubplates and homemade productions, with the emphasis on playing their hand built soundsystem like their predecessors used to do in the golden days of reggae music, when rub-a-dub riddims reigned the dance hall.
Roots Explosion has played at festivals like Couleur Café, Reggae Geel, Reggaebus Festival, Campo Solar, Humble Festival, Space Safari and Ardennes Soundsystem Weekender.
Roots Explosion will be joined by Bruges veteran Wally Nesta aka MC Messenjah (Team Damp).
BLACK PEARL SOUNDSYSTEM
Black Pearl hails from the West-Flanders. One-man-army selector Jah Mike has been collecting and selecting since the mid-1990s. Formerly a member of Dub Fi Youth (now Youth & Truth), he built his own Black Pearl Sound in 2011, inspired by great sounds like King Shiloh Soundsystem and Jah Shaka Soundsystem.
Jah Mike has a very deep box full of rare original roots records, as well as tons of dubplates, so expect nuff pressure in the dance! Black Pearl will be joined by Rudy Roots from the Youth & Truth camp.
REJOICE SOUNDSYSTEM
When the Mbegu collective split up in may 2023, Seppe and Kamiel (Jah Milka) felt the urge to carry on the mission further together. Rejoice was founded mid 2023 with the focus on traditional soundsystem culture and conscious musical works. Jah Milka studio became Rejoice studio and Kamiel released his first album "Babbajah in Rejoice studio" on the Belgian singer's music label "Vibe Generator records". In the meanwhile Seppe kept collecting gear to start assembling their vintage system bit by bit.
In 2024 the soundsystem is ready for testing and the first sessions are booked. Rejoice is ready to represent spiritual reggae music in an original style. Expect a whole heap of box, raw valve power and exclusive music.
