Welcome to the Cultural & Arts Speak-Out & Live Music Fundraiser!
Come join us on Sat, Apr 19, 2025 at 3:00 PM for a day filled with cultural discussions, artistic expressions, and live music performances. This event will be held at 643 US Hwy 1 South, Rockingham, NC, where you can immerse yourself in a vibrant atmosphere celebrating creativity and diversity.
Engage in thought-provoking conversations about various cultural topics, listen to inspiring speakers share their stories, display your community art with our on-site art exhibition, and enjoy live music from talented local artists and award-winning Fruit of Labor Singing Ensemble while they're on their "Rolling Thunder" tour! This is a great opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, support the local community, and have a memorable experience.
For the singers and musicians, bring your best instrumental abilities and vocals to the talent show, and the artists and material creatives, bring and display your art in the on-site art exhbition! If you're a comedian, appropriate stand-up comedy is welcome!
The Richmond County Coalition for Justice & Black Empowerment aims to provide a safe, supportive, and creative space for the youth of our community. Through this initiative, we seek to nurture young talents, empower them to become leaders, and foster a sense of pride and accomplishment. This event not only celebrates their creativity, but also serves as a fundraiser to support programs that enrich their lives and prepare them for a brighter future. Together, we can inspire the next generation and strengthen the fabric of our community!

Info: Shaun & William Ingram, inhabitants of Richmond County and members of the Richmond County Coalition for Justice & Black Empowerment have brought the discussion of the issues in Richmond County to more than just the residents. The panel will feature conversation on how to confront the environmental justice problems in the community, and the most important threat to the negligent care of people in the areaโtogetherness. Joined by the Ingrams are the founders of Black Workers for Justice, Angaza Laughinghouse, Nathanette Mayo, and other members of the organization for Black empowerment. Rania Masri, public speaker, co-director and board member of Organizing & Policy in the North Carolina Environmental Justice Network, and activist is a member of this sponsored panel, along with Hope Taylor, former executive direction of Clean Water for NC and current administrations support after two decades of work with the non-profit.
