See the ribbons come to life, from initial inspiration and designs to the step-by-step production methods used here at the Mill.
The exhibition will delve into the history of the critically endangered craft of silk Ribbon Weaving. It will look at the place silk ribbons once played in fashion history, the lives of those who wore them, and the lives of those who wove them. There will also be the chance to see our ribbon 'wall of fame,' featuring well-known TV films and dramas where our silk ribbons have ended up.
Visiting us during this time will be a great way to immerse yourself in one of the many events commemorating Jane Austen's 250th anniversary. Exhibition entrance is included in the Mill admission fee.
