The Junius B. Dotson Institute of Music and Worship in the Black Church & Beyond commemorates its inaugural launch with the prolific songwriter and musician, Richard Smallwood, and features an opening performance by Grammy-nominated artist, Dr. Cynthia Wilson & The JBDI Mass Choir.

Richard Smallwood is a living icon, Gospel Music Hall of Fame inductee, multiple Stellar and Dove Awards winner, and Grammy nominee. With over four decades as one of the most popular inspirational artists of our time, Richard Smallwood is a well-respected composer, music director and pianist loved for stirring classics including Total Praise, Center of My Joy, and I Love the Lord. His music has been recorded by Yolonda Adams, Edwin Hawkins (the father of contemporary gospel music), Karen Clark Sheard, Whitney Houston, Destiny’s Child, Kelly Price, Ledisi, the Queen of Soul, and Aretha Franklin.


The Junius B. Dotson Institute (JBDI) for Music and Worship in the Black Church & Beyond, launches in Atlanta, GA August 18 - 20, 2022, offering over two days of in-person seminars, mentorship and networking opportunities for Worship Ministries, Pastors and even A/V Production leaders and members.
