About this Event
The RMPM Dinner + Silent Auction is one of the largest medical school fundraisers put on by students each year. We hope to bring together students, faculty, global health advocates, physicians, and members of the community with the primary objective of bringing to light the disparity that exists in access to stable and nutritious sources of food, clean water, and timely healthcare. The second main objective of this event is to raise funds for local and global health initiatives.
The concept is simple. Some individuals per table will be served a "rich man" dinner while the remaining attendees will receive a "poor man" meal. The goal of this event is to highlight the disparities that exist in access to stable and nutritious sources of food, while also raising funds for local and global health initiatives.
This will be our first year reinstating the event since COVID and we will also be celebrating the formal incorporation of the Student Run Clinic as a registered non-profit organization. Over the last nine years, the Rich Man Poor Man dinner has raised over $160,000 and for this year, we are aiming to raise funds for physiotherapy equipment for our clinic at The Mustard Seed Wellness Centre.
