About this Event
In honour of National Ribbon Skirt Day, we invite community members to take part in a two-session Ribbon Skirt Workshop that brings together learning, creativity, and connection.
Participants will be guided through the process of creating their own ribbon skirt while also learning about the meaning of National Ribbon Skirt Day and the role ribbon skirts play as a symbol of Indigenous pride and identity. The workshop balances shared learning with hands-on time to sew, create, and complete each piece.
The two-session format allows participants to work at a comfortable pace and return to finish their skirt with guidance and support.
All materials are provided, and no prior sewing experience is required. Space is intentionally limited to keep the experience personal and supportive.
Workshop details:
- Two sessions: January 8 & January 15
- All materials supplied
- Ages 12 and up
- Limited to 5 participants
This workshop is open to those who wish to take part in a meaningful creative experience in honour of National Ribbon Skirt Day.
