About this Event
We will be offering classes for ribbon skirt making that will be separated in to 3 skill levels of sewing on 3 different dates. We will be providing the notions, supplies, skirt kits and sewing machines for use for the first 10 participants to register! Below are the classes available, or take all 3 to truly get the experience of making a beautiful of your own to take home!
Beginner Class:
We will be covering the basics of skirt making as well as alternative methods to ribbon work. There are so many ways to make a ribbon skirt and we want to share our knowledge with you! We will be also going over different hem options and waist band options. Basic sewing skills are required.
Intermediate Class:
Let's add some pockets! In this class we will get to explore adding extras to our skirts such as an elegant waist band, more intricate ribbon work and even some overlay fabric! We will be going over all of the beautiful details that take your skirt to the next level!
Advanced Class:
Hooray for appliqué! In this segment, we begin to explore ways to apply beautiful designs and how it meshes with different fabrics! We will also add the bonus of creating Cherokee diamonds, a common design that Has been used for both skirts and tear dresses! This class involves using heated irons so adult supervision is required.
