A ribbon cutting ceremony for the new accessible kayak launch at Lone Star Lake will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9. The kayak launch is located on the north side of the lake, 665 E 665 Road, Lawrence. The community is invited to attend.The project was completed by the Douglas County Public Works Department, and it was funded by federal American Rescue Plan Act funds that were allocated by the Douglas County Commission as part of the Open Space Plan initiative.
The launch offers an improved experience for all abilities.
