In the ribbon carnival the races are seeded according to Personal Best times (PB). If a swimmer improves on their PB they earn a ribbon. If they are yet to have a PB recorded, they do this at the first event and earn a ribbon for competing. There are no prizes for placing, this event is designed for the individual to improve their times.
