About this Event
As the climate crisis relentlessly batters communities and practices grapple with increasing regulation, RIBA Southeast is tremendously excited to announce the launch of the RIBA South East Sustainability Group —at the 2024 RIBA SE Winter Festivities.
Join us for our very first in-person event on the new Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard (NZCBS) for architects—including a panel discussion on its viability, and our role in designing and implementing low-carbon low-energy buildings. This year, the joint event will be held in conjunction with School of Architecture, Design, and Planning at the University of Kent, on the delightful Canterbury Campus.
We will first hear from a range of speakers talking about the new standard and ways their practices are already battling towards Net Zero in both retrofit and commercial/residential architecture. Led by the new ACAN Student Ambassador, Joe Bass, our panel of RIBA Members will debate mission-critical questions about the NZCBS, then take questions from the audience.
Established for knowledge-sharing and best practice, come along to learn about and join in our new Sustainability Group, where we will also have the opportunity to meet and mingle in the newly-refurbished School of Architecture Studios.
Refreshments will be provided, thanks to our event sponsor, Ibstock.
