About this Event
Our visit will include a tour of the new galleries by Angus Goodwin, an Associate at ZMMA, and a chance to look around the house and galleries.
ZMMA have led the redevelopment and transformation of Gainsborough’s House into an international centre for Thomas Gainsborough in the unique setting of the artist’s birthplace and childhood home.
Gainsborough’s Grade I listed Georgian townhouse and historic campus have been renovated and reconfigured including the construction of a new three-storey gallery building, providing spaces for exhibitions, displays and learning.

We will then head for a two-course lunch at the Secret Garden restaurant nearby.
The tour will start at 11am on 23rd January 2025, followed by lunch at 1pm. The gallery is a short walk from Sudbury Station, for those who would like to come by public transport. There is also a café on site, where we will meet from 10:30am onwards in the morning.
As with our previous in-person events, the outing is part-subsidised by Local Initiative Funding, but we do ask for a contribution of £29.50 + VAT per head, which covers the lunch and entry to the galleries. Lunch will consist of two courses (starter and main or main and dessert), please note that drinks will be an additonal cost and available to purchase as you wish.
Once you purchase a ticket you will be sent a menu for you to choose your dishes, if you have any dietary requirements which are not accommodated by the menu, please get in touch.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
