About this Event
Step into an evening where the piano takes centre stage, glowing with stories of tradition, experimentation, and imagination.
The program begins with the hypnotic sonic rituals of Monica Brooks, who reshapes sound through piano, field recordings, and improvisation.
Next, Ronan Apcar is a pianist and composer with a reputation of versatility, edge, and tenacity. Unafraid to experiment and challenge norms, his experience and fluency across all kinds of music - jazz to the avant-garde, classical to house music - translates into his exciting work as a musician. His debut album, Dulcie Holland Crescent, was an ABC
featured album.
Acclaimed pianist Zela Margossian follows with a solo set before being joined by her trio, bringing to life her signature blend of progressive world jazz and Armenian influences. Expect richly textured works that shift from driving rhythm to windswept lyricism.
Join us for this special low-lit celebration of piano music, told in four luminous chapters at Lachlan’s Line.
