About this Event
Join Sophia for a 75-minute somatic movement class, where you'll breathe the essence of peaches picked from the orchards where we will be moving. Explore the senses and nature's rhythms as you connect deeply with the environment around you. Cost to attend includes $10 of peaches (with the option to buy more produce), private access to Douglas Farm on Sauvie Island, education from Meagan froom Douglas Farm on our local food system, and a somatic movement class for all experience levels.

Peach Picking & Education
Experience the joy of peach picking while learning about sustainable farming practices. Discover the journey of a peach from blossom to harvest, and gain insights into the ecology of the orchard.
Sensory Exploration
Taste the sweetness of freshly picked peaches, feel the textures of leaves and bark, listen to the gentle rustling of the orchard trees, and breathe in the fragrant air infused with the ripe scent of fruit. This immersive experience will heighten your sensory awareness, allowing you to fully appreciate the beauty and nuances of the natural world around you.
Breathwork in the Orchards
Immerse yourself in the serene environment of the orchards with a guided breathwork session. Surrounded by the juicy beauty and the aroma of fresh peaches, harmonizing your breath with the rhythms of nature.
Somatic Movement
Engage in somatic movement exercises designed to deepen your body awareness and enhance your physical and emotional well-being. Through gentle, mindful movements, you will explore the connections between body and mind, improve your posture, and release tension.

ABOUT SOPHIA
A passionate multi-faceted mover and instructor, Sophia brings together her background in contemporary dance, gymnastics and capoeira to create dynamic classes to explore spatial awareness and grounding, while building strength. An experimental choreographer, performer & vocalist exploring the intersections of identity, ancestry, and the body+voice as a living constellation. A queer child of Pakistani and Norwegian diasporas, her art is informed by the confluence of her cultural and spiritual heritage.
