The band play original material and a few carefully selected covers.
Included in the set will be some reworked Project Blackbird songs (Jon and Eddie’s previous band).
Expect some well crafted songs with a back-beat of groove bass and drums, some funky guitar and laid back brass and keys. All topped off with some soulful vocals.
Jon was The Specials long term trumpet player and toured with them extensively both in the 90s and then again in the reformation from 2008 onwards. He has also toured with The Dandy Warhols (on trumpet). He regularly pops up playing for various different artists as a trumpet player.
Stan also has strong links with The Specials playing rhythm guitar for them from 2020 onwards (covering for Lynval Golding). Stan is a very busy guitarist and has worked with Desmond Dekker, Mark Morrison, Delegation to name but a few.
Eddie is probably the funkiest drummer in the Midlands and runs two bands of his own Stereotype (2-tone) and Trunk (funk) and is an in demand session drummer.
Jason plays in Stereotype and has wide experience with many local bands.
On vocals for this gig we will have the very talented Leah Govier (who fronts Sounds of the Lioness-A tribute to Amy Winehouse) so you know she can sing 😊
