Rhyley McGrath is a travelling musician, gaining fans around Australia with his soulful vocals, catchy originals, and distinct style on guitar.With an identifiable sound of finger-picking melodies, and Delta blues styled arrangements, Rhyley is always pursuing new songs, sounds and ideas to continually develop his set. On any given night, blues standards, folky originals, and upbeat bluegrass vamping can be heard. Over the last few years, there has been a decided shift into songwriting; a style that encompasses all that it is to travel the country in a van playing music.
Having begun gigging sometime around 2016, Rhyley has played over one-thousand gigs all around the country. What has this taught him? That most of the time there is a huge event on this weekend, and that's why nobody is here. Also, that there's nothing better than playing to a room full of people that want to listen to music. From busy markets to Sunday sessions, under-patroned pubs to big production blues festivals, the thousand gigs has been a varied experience.
What started as a twice-weekly drive from Bendigo to Melbourne and back along the Calder highway, has grown into a country-wide network of venues where Rhyley now performs, touring regularly to all states and territories. This endeavour has been wonderfully embraced by enthusiastic crowds and supporters all around.
During this time, Rhyley has performed at a number of festivals; some of which include the iconic Forth Blues Festival, a number of small Victorian folk festivals, Queensland blues festivals and is a regular performer at the Bendigo Blues and Roots Festival. Rhyley always brings a captivating performance that will either have you up and dancing, or experiencing with joy.
