Mt. Pleasant LibraryLearn about the diversity of native bees, their importance in our ecosystem, and how the use of native plants in the landscape can help with pollinator conservation. You’ll learn about some of the common threats to bees — habitat loss, invasive species, pesticide use and climate change — as well as some of the ways you as a homeowner, gardener, or bee enthusiast can help support our native pollinators. Get ideas on using native plants and floral diversity to help bees, ways to rethink your lawn, and other ways to garden to benefit native pollinators. Information provided will include links to useful handouts prepared by the URI Bee Lab on recommended pollinator plants, native plants for your region, and best gardening practices for native bees.
This workshop is open to all and free thanks to the URI Master Gardener Program. Register by visiting: https://clpvd.org/event/rhode-islands-native-bees-best-gardening-practices-for-pollinators/
