If you've seen heat pump water heaters and have thought they require a refigeration technician to install them, they don't!
Installation can only be carried out by a registered plumber and involves the same work as a conventional electric hot water storage cylinder. The units are installed outdoors but do not required any refigeration work at the time of installion, the system is pre-charged and programmed ready to go!
Rheem has added three new heat pump water heaters to the range recently. These are a great choice to combat high energy costs. Hot water heating typicaly accounts for a third of home energy use and these water heaters can achieve up to 70% savings.
We'll cover the features and benefits of each model to help specify the correct unit for the job. We'll also cover installation requirements, explain how they operate and also explain how the units identify faults and report via error codes what action is required.
The design of these units has changed to ensure a long reliable life expectancy using an advanced wrap around microchannel heating technology. This reduces the number of working parts dramatically when compared to older heat pump units, and ensures easier fault-finding and repairs if required.
