IMPORTANT NOTICE:

PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION PRIOR TO PROCEEDING TO THE REGISTRATION.

The RGVFFMA 72nd Annual Fire & Public Safety Academy is:

Conducted by: Texas Engineering Extension Service in Partnership with the Texas Forest Service both members of Texas A&M University System

Sponsored by: Rio Grande Valley Firefighter's & Fire Marshals' Association

Facilities Furnished by: Edinburg Fire Department

Who Should Attend:

These courses are for all members of a volunteer, combination or paid department of cities and industries who want the latest training in fire protection & related topics. In order to keep abreast of new opportunities and developments in the fire service and to learn the most current fire control and fire protection methods.

Registration:

Pre-registration deadline: February 11, 2022

Late registration fee of $20 per class will be applied after February 11, 2022

On-Site Registration will be available on February 19, 2022 at 7:30 a.m.

Fee:

Note: RGVFFMA current members have a discounted fee on all classes except for the Drone SAP 154 and Beyond the Basics: Search & Ladders. All departments will be invoiced accordingly, payment must be received prior to class date.

Firefighting I - Session I & II:

1. Members: $350 for both sessions ($175.00 per session)
2. Non-Members: $380 for both sessions ($190.00 per session)

Special Courses:

Fee indicated on flyer.

Transfers, Cancellation and No-Show Policy:

If you are not able to attend, you MUST contact Mari Tovar, District Secretary at (956) 383-7691 15 or more calendar days in advance to cancel your registration. Please refer to the cancellation and no-show policy listed below:

Transfers: Transfers to another scheduled class (or from one customer to another) are accepted 15 or more calendar days before the start of the class at no charge.

1. Students are encouraged to transfer to a scheduled class of the same course.
2. If the student can not transfer to a scheduled class of the same course, then he/she may transfer to another class of a different course and receive either a refund or pay the difference between the two class fees (if applicable).
3. If the student cannot attend the class, then the Cancellation/Refund policy is in effect.

Cancellations/ Refunds:

The RGVFFMA will provide a full refund if you cancel 15 or more calendar days before the start of the class (minus the expense of the books, if applicable).

If the RGVFFMA cancels a class, student will be offered:

1. A transfer to a scheduled class of the same course (if available).
2. A transfer to another class of a different course (students will receive either a refund or pay the difference between the two class fees, if applicable).
3. A full refund will be issued.

Release of Liability: By registering for this training, you are acknowledging that you have read and understood the Release; and you are at least eighteen (18) years of age and fully competent.

In consideration for receiving permission to participate in the Rio Grande Valley Firefighters and Fire Marshals Association Fire & Public Safety Academy. I hereby release, indemnify, and covenant not to sue the Rio Grande Valley Firefighters and Fire Marshals Association, the City of Edinburg, and the Edinburg Fire Department, their officers, agents or employees (Releases) from any and all liability, claims, costs, and cause of action arising out of or related to any property damage or personal injury, including death, that may be sustained by me, while participating in such activity, or while on the premises owned or leased by Releases. I acknowledge there may be physically strenuous activities. I know of no physical or mental condition which would preclude my full participation.

I am fully aware of the risks and hazards involved with the Rio Grande Valley Firefighters and Fire Marshals Association Fire & Public Safety Academy Courses including but not limited to; burns, heat stroke, heart attack, heat exhaustion, falls and other related injuries, and I choose to voluntarily participate in said activity with full knowledge that said activity may be hazardous to me and my property.

I understand that the City of Edinburg, Edinburg Fire Department does not maintain any insurance policy covering and circumstance arising from my participation in this activity or any event related to that participation. As such, I am aware that I should review my personal insurance coverage.
