June Lecture 16.06.2022 Susie Herzberg OAM The Overland Telegraph after 150 years: a 21st century perspective of the OTL.
The Royal Geographical Society of South Australia warmly welcomes Susie Herzberg OAM to present our June lecture. Susie is a descendent of Charles and Alice Todd. She is a company director and has worked in urban, environmental and strategic planning in government, in private practice and at the University of Adelaide.
Susie will discuss the processes which led to the Overland Telegraph Project, the role of Todd, the preparation, planning and governance of the project and the history of the relationships between those who worked on the line and this country’s First Peoples.
The RGSSA Lecture Program is supported by the State Library of South Australia
Please note that this lecture will be held in the Hetzel Theatre, Institute Building, corner of North Terrace and Kintore Avenue (adjacent to SLSA).
This event is free for members of the RGSSA (although we do appreciate a gold coin donation). Non-members are welcome to attend and tickets are available for $10 per person. Book on line through this site. The RGSSA welcomes new members who wish to make a contribution to the success of the society.
