About this Event
September Lecture.Living along the Coorong - the Veenstra family. Presented by Jock Veenstra.
The Royal Geographical Society of South Australia warmly welcomes Jock Veenstra to present our September lecture. Please note that this lecture will be held in the Hetzel Theatre, Institute Building, corner of North Terrace and Kintore Avenue (adjacent to SLSA).
Jock began his career as a boat builder, learning his trade in the shipyards of Rotterdam. On his return to Australia, his family business built the River Murray cruise boats Murray River Queen, Murray Explorer and Murray Princess. He now operates the eco cruise business, Spirit Australia Cruises, running tours on the Murray as well as to the Murray Mouth and the Coorong.
Not surprisingly, Jock enjoys his work on the boats, taking groups from all over the world to the places that he knows so well, interpreting the sights and telling the stories.
Join us for what promises to be an excellent lecture.
This event is free for members of the RGSSA (although we do appreciate a gold coin donation). Non-members are welcome to attend and tickets are available for $10 per person. Book on line through this site. The RGSSA welcomes new members who wish to make a contribution to the success of the society.
