Structure-Function-Energy: Learn a neurobiomechanical model of training & a bioenergetic approach to nutrition to optimize the rehab process
About this Event

Rewire Health & Performance:

This 1 day, 2 part specialty seminar focuses on a bioenergetic approach to nutrition, health, and rehabilitation as well as foundational biomechanical principles critical for performance, fitness & prevention.

The rehabilitation process warrants a more integrated approach that addresses all relevant inputs—including training, nutrition, sleep, stress, light, environment and more.

Structure, function, and energy are all interdependent. Only through understanding a structure-function-energy model of the body can we truly understand all types of health, performance, and rehab issues.

Understanding this bioenergetic approach to nutrition in order helps create better client outcomes when it comes to rehab, performance, and physical fitness.

Learn a principle-based neurobiomechanical model of training that can help systematize program design as it specifically relates to the rehab process.

This seminar breaks down fundamental movement concepts including breathing patterns, structural shape archetypes, planes of motion, asymmetries and more with corresponding demonstrations & applied training interventions.

Seminar Learning Objectives:

  • Understand how the various structures, functions, and energetics of the body relate to the overall robustness of an organism and how this relates to the rehabilitation process
  • Learn the fundamentals of a bioenergetic approach to nutrition
  • Evaluate ideal and less ideal foods based on their energetic potential
  • Learn how we can use nutrition to optimize the rehabilitation process as well as promote resilience in healthy non-injured individuals
  • Understand the mechanics of the breathing pattern
  • Perform table tests to evaluate motion capabilities of the body and the underlying breathing strategies that support the body
  • Learn to evaluate breathing strategies and common compensatory patterns
  • Differentiate between major differences in skeleton types
  • Learn the optimal set ups and breathing exercises for the different skeleton classifications
  • Learn the key anatomical structures and muscles of the pelvis and thorax
  • Breakdown the optimal set ups and execution of core pelvis exercises for different skeleton classifications
  • Breakdown the optimal set ups and execution of core thorax exercises for different skeleton classifications
  • Understand the key points that constitute the fundamentals of sagittal plane, frontal plane, and transverse plane exercises
  • Evaluate the degree of competency of exercises in the sagittal plane, frontal plane, and transverse plane
  • Know the appropriate ways to correct errors seen in sagittal plane, frontal plane, and transverse plane exercises

After Attending Participants Will be Able to:

  • Feel confident discussing nutrition with their clientele
  • Identify and addresss limitations in diet and lifestyle of clients that may contribute to injury or subpar performance.
  • Measure and evaluate people based on limitations in the breathing pattern and range of motion testing on a table
  • Coach people in how to set up and execute breathing exercises
  • Coach people in how to set up and execute core exercises for the pelvis and thorax
  • Recognize whether core exercises are performed optimally in the sagittal, frontal, and transverse planes
  • Know the optimal way to coach people to fix errors in sagittal plane, frontal, plane, and transverse plane exercise execution
  • Combine an understanding of these biomecanical concepts with corresponding applied training interventions using the neubie (neurobioelectric stimulator).
