Looking for something fun and environmental to do this school holidays?Come join us and contribute to a hands-on, community art mural! Using provided collage paper and other art supplies, help us rewild a library wall with cut-out habitat for native bird characters.
This free event is a great opportunity for kids to learn about positive, collaborative environmental change, and express their creativity.
KEY DETAILS:
Drop in anytime between 11am and 3:30pm on Saturday 28th of September. We recommend allowing an hour to sit down and make your creations to add to the wall. The mural will remain up for the rest of the school holidays if you’d like to contribute at a later date.
This event is recommended for preschool and lower primary school aged children, but everyone is welcome to join in.
There will be additional resources on conservation for kids living in Canberra provided on the day.
ABOUT:
This activity is run by local Illustrator Tilda Joy, who will supply inspiring hand-painted collage paper textures to spark participants creativity. Tilda loves native plants and animals, and studies environmental science. She has done children’s illustration work for organisations including Questacon and the Australian National Botanic Gardens.
This activity is part of a project run through the Australian National University to improve children's engagement with conservation work in Canberra.
