We are standing in the space of mid-winter with Yin in its fullest expression.Yin is the weight of the cold, the dark and the still.
It is common during this season to experience a drained vitality, disorientation, or a felt sense of having lost our way.
Layer on top of this, the relentless demands of capitalism with the constant need to feel productive, and the hopelessness and helplessness that is amplified by the many injustices that are happening on both a local and global level.
In this deep season of winter, we can forget that we have the potential within us to make massive ripples in our world.
We are innately resourced beings who have the capacity to do great things, given that we can cultivate an understanding of living as the seasons do. Winter is the Earth’s time of utmost rest, utmost darkness, and utmost conservation.
Nature requires it.
It is from this fertile silence that Spring is born.
It takes this period of consolidation and gestation to regenerate the burst of Yang that will crack seedlings open and push them up through the soil to reach the sunlight at winter’s end.
Let us begin the process of opening up to planting seeds of potentiality.
The Earth is moving towards greater form and expression and so too are we.
May we begin to sense a stirring of possibility below the surface of ourselves.
And may we acknowledge and honour this important phase of introspection and quietude that winter represents.
This evening will draw from the seasonal wisdom of Classical Chinese Medicine, Embodied Mindfulness, and Somatic Awareness shedding light on how we can best support our health and well-being through this often challenging time of year.
In addition to a short lecture, we will journal, meditate, engage in a restorative/Yin-inspired asana practice, receive acupuncture, and rest deeply.
Investment: Sliding-scale $65-$80
Space is limited, so please contact us at [email protected] to reserve your spot.
Your guides for the evening are long time beloveds and nerdy-collaborators Casey Parsons, of Love and Acupuncture and group facilitator and somatic therapist Toni Dunne.
