It's Party Time at Forbidden Planet because on Tuesday, June 18th from 4 to 6 PM we will be celebrating brand new publisher Savage Harvest and their very first release; none other than John Russo’s Return of the Living Dead, his original and long out-of-print sequel novel to George Romero’s classic Night of the Living Dead. That's right, John Russo, the legendary co-writer of the original Night of the Living Dead will be on hand meeting fans and signing copies of the much anticipated reissue of the Return of the Living Dead novel. Russo will also be selling new and vintage products from his many projects like Night of the Living Dead, Midnight, and Scream Queens Illustrated. Copies of the Return of the Living Dead novel will be signed for free, any items purchased directly from Russo will be autographed at no charge and if you want any personal items you signed there will be a $30 dollar fee. About John Russo.
With forty books published internationally and nineteen feature movies in worldwide distribution, John Russo has been called a "living legend." He began by co-authoring the screenplay for Night of the Living Dead, which has become recognized as a "horror classic." His three books on the art and craft of movie making have become bibles of independent production, and one of them, Scare Tactics, won a national award for Superior Nonfiction.
John Russo wants people to know he's "just a nice guy who likes to scare people" — and he's done it with novels and films such as Return of the Living Dead, Midnight, The Majorettes, The Awakening, Heartstopper, and My Uncle John is a Zombie. He has had a long, rewarding career, and he shows no signs of slowing down. One of his best novels, Dealey Plaza, dealing with the epidemic of gun violence in America, was published to great acclaim by Burning Bulb Publishing. His screenplay The Night They Came Home, is a Western horror story based on true events, and is currently in production in California.
