This November, artist J.A. Tan returns to Manila with a very personal exhibit, Return & Remember, opening on November 19, 2025 at Gallery C, Conrad Manila. Running through January 17, 2026, the show brings together some of his more recent paintings—works that reflect the places and memories closest to his heart.For Tan, art is more than paint on canvas—it’s a way of holding on to moments and places that have shaped him. In Return & Remember, he shares scenes inspired by his journey between the Philippines, Vancouver, and beyond. Each painting carries a sense of belonging, inviting us to see not just the colors and landscapes, but the emotions and memories woven into them.
“Art is a journey of connection—a way to retrace steps through memories and places that have shaped me,” Tan explains. “These paintings bring together fragments of memory, allowing me to understand and share my personal story.”
Walking through the exhibit will feel like stepping into pieces of Tan’s life—familiar neighborhoods, bright cityscapes, and quiet corners that speak of home. And in these painted stories, visitors may find sparks of their own journeys and memories too.
More than just an art show, Return & Remember is a warm invitation: to pause, reflect, and celebrate the places that stay with us no matter where we go.
