ABOUT THE FILM: This early ‘90s attempt to adapt the world of the highly popular Nintendo video game franchise brings the 8-bit action to the real world. Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo star as plumbers, Mario and Luigi, who get sucked into a parallel universe composed of dino-human descendants. While there, they must save the princess and stop a tyrannical, lizard-tongued Dennis Hopper. A box office bomb upon its release, and not resembling the source material it spawned from (instead drawing inspiration from Blade Runner and Jurassic Park), the film has since been reclaimed as a cult classic. Out of print on physical media, we are excited to showcase SUPER MARIO BROS. on a rare 35mm print.
