The 80’s was a decade of fun. Computers were evolving rapidly which gave birth to an entire new style of musical gear. This new pop music was known for it’s pulsating electronic beats, powerful synthesizers, driving bass lines and innocent, yet flirtacious lyrics.MTV exploded on the scene delivering this music visually which set fire to the popularity and growth of this fun, new verion of pop music.
Even if you didn’t live through it, the music of the era lives on 30+ years later with many of the biggest artists of the time selling out concert venues including Erasure, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, Information Society, Human League, Oingo Boingo and more.
Retrosonic is made up of musicians who played this music in clubs all over the country in the bands Modern Art and Mirage. In 1996, they started the band Sweet Tarts which was known for the same pumping dance beats and great audience rapport.
