Local LTB textile artist, Marlene Rees, is having an exhibition of upcycled retro lamps in Bruthen from 3-31st October (open Thursday to Sunday, 10-4 PM). Marlene has an interest in sourcing and collecting old lamp bases from the 1960’s era––in particular, the highly-sought-after Ellis, Barsony, and Gunda pottery pieces.
Inspired by the colour, shape, and size, each of her bases is upcycled with carefully chosen shades, then recovered with matching fabric—vintage, wherever possible.
All interested are welcome for free opening night 5pm-7pm Bruthen Village Maker, 61 Main St, Bruthen. Marlene will be very pleased to discuss her work.
Her Exhibition at Bruthen is well worth a visit.
