We invite you to join our 9th instalment of Retro Night, the finest night of music from bands and DJs nestled beautifully between Christmas and New Years Eve and a stable evening of entertainment on many people’s festive calendar.We’ve kept the entry prices the same over the last few years in recognition to the cost of living but there is also no ‘shrinkflation’ with 2 live bands and resident DJ to entertain you.
The 5 piece Butterfly Collective are joined on stage again by our dear friend Andy Melbourne on trombone. This Mod/Ska/Soul/Britpop band play classic covers from the likes of The Jam, The Who, Small Faces, Stone Roses, The Specials, Billy Ocean, Ocean Colour Scene, Oasis (to name but a few), with the power and energy of the original artists. Butterfly Collective also play original material in similar genres available on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music and all music streaming and uploading sites and are constantly writing new material. Together for 12+ years and gigging across the country at venues, festivals, scooter rallies with an ever growing following, they’ve also been honoured to play the likes of the Cavern in Liverpool a handful of times and supported bands such as The Lambrettas and Secret Affair.
This years support act, the wonderful ‘Cherry Go Steady’. If you’ve seen these guys already, you’ll know why we are excited to have them on board. Cherry Go Steady are a seven-piece ska and reggae band, playing classic sunshine reggae hits and some wonderfully unobvious numbers in a reggae arrangement. Based on the south coast, this band consists of experienced musicians fronted by an amazing female singer.
Our resident DJ is scooter rally and crowd favourite, often seen as the support DJ at 1865, Kev ‘Soulboots’ O’Connell who’ll be keeping you dancing before, between and after the live acts.
