Retired Recess has a blockbuster guest coming to visit on Thursday, March 27. Join us for a talk by Bryan Gruley, a journalist-turned-novelist who helped the Wall Street Journal earn a Pulitzer Prize for coverage of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. These days, Bryan is a novelist with five critically acclaimed titles to his name – including the Starvation Lake trilogy set in northern Michigan! His sixth novel, BITTERFROST, also set in this area, will be published April 1 with a book launch and signing event at Brilliant Books. The Detroit native lives in Traverse City with his wife, Pam, and loves hockey and golf. Bryan will share stories from his experience as a journalist and novelist from 12-1PM. Weather permitting, the ski hill will be open from 12-3PM and then the action will shift to the tube run from 3-4PM. If cold and snow aren't your thing, hang inside to savor a tasty meal at the T-Bar & grill, watch a movie, play cards, games, or just hang with your friends. It’s your chance to enjoy “recess” with kids your own age.
