About this Event

Even the name is rather magical; "Hidden Lake Vernal Pool". It's one of a kind in the Mt. San Jacinto Range, a rare natural body of water of the spring time created by the snow and rains of the winter season and home to a unique life form, the Hidden Lake Blue Curl. It must be carefully protected. It's certainly one of the most sought out locations to visit in the park. It's also relatively easy to get there. That's good .....and bad! Too many visits by careless visitors would be devastating. With knowledgeable leaders to take you there, it's only about a mile and a half distant and 300 feet up from Long Valley to 8760 feet. In Addition there will be a short walk to Hidden Divide where the topography drops off to the Willow Creek watershed with vast views to the South all the way to the mountains in San Diego County. Don't miss this opportunity!
