About this Event
In the 1990s, Israel’s judiciary and Supreme Court President Aharon Barak accumulated an unprecedented degree of power in what is now known as the "Constitutional Revolution," setting off decades of judicial activism. In recent years, however, Israeli thought leaders across both the public and private sectors have initiated a drive to reform Israel’s judiciary by adding more democratic accountability. Few, however, have been as integral to the process as Member of the Knesset Simcha Rothman, the Chairman of Israel’s Constitution, Law, and Justice Committee. Join MK Rothman and former Aharon Barak clerk Joshua Kleinfeld of Scalia Law as they discuss the ongoing debate surrounding judicial reform in Israel.
