About this Event

DESCRIPTION:

This presentation discusses the clinical considerations when restoring a morse tapered implant connection. Restoring single unit restorations have many aspects about it that may seem challenging, but we can break down the 5 most important things to consider when restoring single unit implant crowns. The instructor will cover the concept of a “matching” and “non-matching” connection when it comes to identifying implant connections, as well as discussing crestal vs. subcrestal placement, breaking it down to simplify the concepts.
- To explore the principles behind designing an abutment and crown to be convex vs. concave.
- Discuss platform switching and subcrestal vs. crestal placement.
- To identify the mucosa thickness and height when determining the proper abutment to choose.
- How to accurately, and consistently measure the gingiva height of the abutment, and account for biological width.
- Attendees will also be able to place a CADCAM analog into a printed model, insert a Ti base, and cement a screw-retained restoration that they will then take home with them.
