Spend 2 days immersed in Restorative Yoga and learn how it can help bring a sense of ease and wellbeing to you and your students.
About this Event

In our fast-paced, results-driven society, we rarely get a chance to stop doing and thinking and processing. We are encouraged to be ‘on’ all the time; to multitask so we can get more done; and to just keep pushing through. This lifestyle can bring us to our knees, exhausting our nervous systems and depleting our stores of prana. At times like these, we can turn to the quiet practice of Restorative Yoga to help us increase our resilience and reclaim a sense of well-being even in the most challenging times. Restorative yoga gives us permission to rest and recover from the stress of our overstimulated experience of life. With the extensive use of props, we learn to soften and relax in ways that promote health and healing on the physical, emotional, and energetic levels.

You will learn the theories behind restorative yoga practices as well as study relevant points about supported asana, pranayama, and meditation. You will explore how to guide Restorative Yoga classes as a supportive, safe, and deep inner exploration.

In this 14-hour training, Lauren McLaren, E-RYT 500; YACEP, leads your exploration into this very beneficial style of practice during which you will:

Form an understanding of the purpose of Restorative Yoga from both philosophical and physiological perspectives.

Learn how to employ and manage props to create a restorative experience for yourself or your students.

Gain experience and understanding of how to effectively sequence a restorative class.

Discover how Pranayama and Yoga Nidra contribute to establishing a state of deep rest.

Practice and practice teach restorative yoga with and to your classmates.

We look forward to a journey that will remind you how to honor your body's natural rhythm and guide you back to an understanding of yourself and your students as sacred beings who deserve to rest and be renewed.
