What to Expect for Restorative Yoga Nidra Class:

Join Linda Herrmann, YTT200 and certified Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra Instructor, for a deeply relaxing and healing practice of Restorative Yoga Nidra. This class involves holding supportive poses for longer periods while being completely supported by props so you can release all muscular effort. Along with the restorative poses, participants will be guided through a Yoga Nidra meditation, which invites rest and relaxation through body sensing, breath awareness, thought and feeling awareness, and guided imagery.

Some benefits of Yoga Nidra include a deep sense of relaxation and calm, which helps reduce stress, anxiety, and insomnia; it regulates blood pressure and helps strengthen the immune system. Twenty minutes of Yoga Nidra can feel like 2-3 hours of deep sleep.

About Linda

Although I first encountered yoga in my mid-teens, I became dedicated to my practice after a breast cancer diagnosis in 2015. Yoga offered me a place on my mat to become present and gently move as my body healed. I received my 200-hour Teacher Training through Day Yoga in Dayton in 2022 and received my certification in Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra ® through Jennifer Reis in May 2023. Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation through the subtle bodies of the Koshas, using body sensing, breath awareness, and guided imagery. This practice can help with insomnia, anxiety, and the everyday stresses of life. I enjoy teaching gentle, yin, and restorative classes that offer a nourishing and welcoming space rooted in breathwork, meditation, and movement. Being in community with others on their mats is truly a joy and an honor. When not on my mat, I enjoy spending time in nature, gardening, and working with fiber arts. I live in Troy, Ohio, with my husband, Peter, and Goldendoodle, Elle. We have five grown children and four adventurous, creative, and curious grandchildren who are truly the light and love of my life.
