What is a sound bath?
Sound baths are immersive musical meditations that encourage different brain waves and are a wonderful way to restore balance to your mind, body and soul. Different instruments are used to promote positive health and wellbeing outcomes and allow people to access a deep state of relaxation. This may include crystal singing bowls, gongs, Tibetan bowls and voice.
Benefits of sound healing
Therapeutic sounds have been used by ancient cultures for health benefits and spiritual purposes for thousands of years and sound healing can instil a deep sense of sacredness. Benefits include:
- Relieve depression and anxiety and improve mental health
- Help reduce physical pain
- Improve sleep and restore energy
- Experience less stress and more inner peace
- More clarity and balance
- Stronger immune system
- Improved memory and concentration
What is restorative yoga?
This is a slow and gentle style of yoga somewhat similar to yin, where you stay in the poses with props for longer. It's a very meditative style of yoga that pairs beautifully with sound healing. The difference between yin and restorative is that yin is releasing through the fascia and deeper tissue, whereas in restorative you are fully supported in each pose.
You don't need any yoga experience, and we will do a short practice for the purposes of helping you get into your body, connect with your breath and unwind even more.
